Strategic Discussions for Nebraska

Strategic Discussions for Nebraska

Opportunities for Nebraska, Volume Two: Energy, Climate and Sustainability is the second annual publication of Strategic Discussions for Nebraska that explores the impact and relevance of University of Nebraska research.

Watch and listen as experts tell the stories of research and innovation at the University of Nebraska – one of the top research universities in the United States.

Researchers at this university are finding ways to double the world’s food production using the same amount of land and water – while improving quality and sustainability. This magazine and website showcase research into climate change, agricultural production, water quality and quantity, energy…and the education that will be necessary to move the world forward in the future.

This is the first publication under the financial and programmatic collaboration of three entities: the Robert and Ardis James Family Foundation; the UNL Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources; and the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications. We are grateful for their support.

Stories and video content in this magazine and on the website were produced by UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a Magazine Writing course in the spring of 2011.

Because we’re not all scientists, the writers tried to make this research easy for readers to understand. We hope we’ve been successful in capturing the essence of this important information.

We welcome comments and suggestions. If you would like copies of the magazine, please see below for information on how to contact us.
